Introduction

In the past in order to someone becomes a "master on something," they would not have to do more than reading a couple of books, one, maybe 2. One of the clear side effect of our current society is that it had shifted completely. In a current summer school, 2014, I have seen an interesting research, in which the people had to read about 40000 articles, this means that if you read one per day, which depends on the paper is out of question, it will take about 100 years for you to finish the research, apparently the records of staying in the same research belongs to Einstein, as the stories go, he spent about 30 years on the master equations and failed.

This blog intends to humbly publish several book reviews. By book reviews is meant more than just commenting them, but as well as making available interesting parts. The review will certainly vary in quality, from short reviews to more elaborated ones. My initial ambitions is just making available short references for nice publications, according to a criteria. Several people make references to a work just by reading a short part of it, I myself do not do it, but if someone feels like it, be my quest to rely on the blog for gathering references.

This blog arose from a dilemma. I wanted to add to Stochastic Models a page for documenting several books that I would assess as important for my research, however it came to me that maybe a new blog would be more appropriate. The main reason was that a new blog could easily be kept on later, if for example I change my interests, then if an audience is conquered, this is not necessary to rebuild it. For now, the references represents the important one for the project stochastic models in medicine and life sciences. Of course, one can follow this one without necessary concerning about the other, they are two different business, for now gathered.

I intend to add not just books, but as well as papers. I have non intention to make a specific periodicity to publish, it will depend on the process of reading the books and papers and I judging worthwhile to report on the context. Again, some reviews will be short and herein reviews must be understood as comments plus part of the publications. By no means these reviews intend to replace the original work. Further, I have decided not to make reviews of any work of mine, once this would not be nice. And finally, I hope this will be useful to someone, even if not, maybe even for me in the future.
